Chimps and Gorillas adventure into the Primate world

Bwindi Impenetrable Forest Park is home to the endangered Mountain Gorilla. Half of the gorilla population lives there. Come face to face with these gentle giants. It is once in a lifetime experience. Kibale Forest National park with the highest concentration of primates is another destination not to be missed. Game drives and boat rides at Queen Elizabeth will offer you spectacular views of the abundant wildlife.

Day 1: Arrival in Uganda

Meet our staff and check in at hotel in Entebbe or Kampala.

Depending on your arrival time, you may visit the Zoo, Botanical gardens for a nature walk and Birding in Entebbe.

Day 2: Kibale Forest National Park.

This morning you will begin your journey to Kibale Forest National Park. Your drive will take you through a beautiful scenery of tea plantations.

Stop over for lunch in the Fort Portal town . Overnight at your lodge-Chimpanzee Guest house

Day 3: Chimpanzee Tracking & Bigodi Swamp Walk

After breakfast, you will prepare yourself for the chimpanzee tracking mission the most exciting activity in the park. An experienced forest ranger will take you chimps tracking in the morning. along the forest walk you will be able to see other primates like red-tailed monkey, black-and-white Columbus monkey. After Lunch go to Bigodi Wetland sanctuary for a nature walk ,home to over 100 bird species. The Sanctuary is operated by the Kibale Association for Rural and Environmental Development (KAFRED), a registered community based organization (CBO). A significant fraction of association income has been used, and continues to be used, to fund numerous related community projects.

The Bigodi Women’s Group, weaves crafts from environmentally sustainable materials, dyes and methods. Their crafts are sold worldwide.

Day 4: Queen Elizabeth N.P.

In the morning, you can relax at your lodge. You will then continue your journey to Queen Elizabeth National Park via the Bunyangabu Beekeppers Cooperative (BBC), is a community organization along the Kasese – Fortportal road. Fresh comb honey is available from BBC between March-May and August-November.

It is a true honey experience, where visitors can see honey processing, taste honey from the comb, and even make their own candles to take home.

Day 5: Game Drive – Queen Elizabeth National Park

The day begins early as we start with a morning game drive after an early breakfast. We will search for the lions, elephants, buffaloes and other wild animals in their natural habitat before returning for lunch. In the afternoon you go for a boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel, a water channel between Lake Edward and Lake George. You will be able to see birds, hippos cooling off in the waters, elephants, and buffaloes. Overnight at your accommodation. Enganzi Lodge or Mweya Safari Lodge

Day 6: Queen Elizabeth to Bwindi National Park

After breakfast, depart for Bwindi Impenetrable Forest .Explore the villages and the native communities. Dinner and overnight at Ichumbi Gorilla Lodge 

Day 7-8: Gorilla tracking adventure

Have an early morning breakfast and then go for a briefing by UWA officials at the Park headquarters. Proceed to the Impenetrable forest for gorillas tracking with packed lunch. You should wear jungle boots since tracking involves walking up steep densely forested hills. It is an exhilarating life time experience when you get close to the gorillas. After lunch go for a community visit to the local communities living around the park to learn about their history. Dinner and overnight at your  Lodge

Day 9: Drive to Lake Bunyonyi

After breakfast, we take a scenic drive to Kabale via Lake Bunyonyi (a place of little birds) with beautiful terraced hillsides. It is the second deepest Lake in Africa rumored to vary between 144 ft and 2,952 ft. You will enjoy a boat ride that will take you to various islands for bird viewing and sightseeing. Later in the day you will visit the Bakiga museum and discover the traditions of the inhabitants (Bakiga) of the area.

Day 10: Transfer to Lake Mburo

After breakfast we drive to Lake Mburo National Park enjoying the beautiful scenery along the way. It is home to Elands as well as Zebras, Topis, Impalas, and birds. The lake within the park attracts Hippos, Crocodiles and a variety of water birds like African Fin foot.

Check into your accommodation, Have lunch and relax. Go for a boat ride in the afternoon. Night game drive can be arranged(Optional).

Day 11: Game Drive and Nature walk in the park

After breakfast, we have a game drive and a ranger Guided Nature walk in the National park. You have chances of seeing animals like Water Bucks, Impalas, Elands, Buffalo, Topis, Zebras, Bush Bucks, Warthogs.

Overnight and dinner at Rwakobo Rock.

Day 12: Kampala via the Equator

Early breakfast, and have another game drive as we leave the park. We have lunch en route. Stop over at the equator enjoy the water experiments, buy souvenirs and take photographs.

Overnight and dinner at Cassia Lodge or equivalent

Day 13: After breakfast, You will tour Kampala known as a City of happiness. The popular historical and religious sites include Gaddafi national Mosque, Lugard Fort, Kasubi tombs, Namugongo Martyrs shrine, National Museum, Ndere troupe Culture Centre and Art Galleries for those who love art paintings.

Day 14: Departure

End of Chimps and Gorillas Safari

Take your flight back home.
