Day 1: Welcome to Uganda

Meet and greet our representative at Airport. Check in your hotel in Entebbe or Kampala.

Overnight: Lake Heights/Garden Hotel, Boma Guest house/Cassia Lodge.

Day 2. Mabamba-Lake Mburo National Park

Mabamba birding site is your next destination today after breakfast, to search for the shoebill bird. It is an important birding Area for shoe bills. Other birds can be sighted like African Open billed, saddle billed stork, Long tailed cormorant.

Day 3-4: Lake Mburo

At Lake Mburo, go for a game drive and you may see the zebras, graceful impalas, Oribi, Elands or even a Leopard. Optional activities like nature walks and birding are available.

Enjoy the Afternoon boat ride on Lake Mburo. Watch its wildlife which includes the crocodiles and hippos.

Return to hotel for relaxation. Evening game drive is another optional activity available.

Day5-6: Lake Mburo NP –Bwindi

This morning travel to Bwindi National Park home to 50% of the world’s gorillas. Enjoy another game drive as you leave Lake Mburo National Park. Arrive at Bwindi, check in at lodge.

Day 7-8.Gorilla tracking Bwindi , Batwa Community visit –Bwindi

Today after breakfast with packed lunch, go to gorilla tracking briefing point. Ranger guide will brief you on the day’s activities in the forest. It is a lifetime experience when you come face to face with these giant primates. It takes 4 to 5 hours to track them in the forest hideouts and one hour viewing them.

Later on in the afternoon go for a community walk to the Batwa village and learn about the original inhabitants of the Bwindi forest.

Day 9-11.Climbing tree lions –Queen Elizabeth

Travel to Queen Elizabeth National Park through rural Uganda. Enjoy the beautiful scenery of the Rwenzoris in the background . It is a habitat of several mammals. At Ishasha you will be able to see the tree climbing lions.  Later on Continue further to Queen Elizabeth Heartland to enjoy other game drives and boat ride.

On Day 10 go for an early game drive in search of the nocturnal animals like the lions. A boat ride in the afternoon on Kazinga channel is an exciting ride that brings you closer to the crocodiles, hippos and birds like the African skimmer. Return to lodge. Night game drive is an optional activity available.

Day 12-13.Chimps Trekking

Kibale Forest National Park is home to the highest concentration of chimpanzees in East Africa. Tracking these playful creatures known to swing in the tree branches is quite an experience. Other primates may be sighted in the forest like the Red Colobus, L’Hoest’ Monkeys and the endemic Uganda Mangabey.

Bigodi community will be visited in the afternoon to learn more about the women group projects and go birding in Bigodi swamp for avid bird watchers.

Day 14-15. Semuliki-Murchison falls National Park

Today you visit Semuliki an interesting conservation area, partly forested and partly savannah. Visit the Sempaya Hot Springs and have the chance to boil eggs and go for a nature walk through the forest.

Later on you will visit Amabere’ganyinamwiru caves. This site has an interesting legendary tale.  A guide will tell you about Nyinamwiru a daughter of Bukuku one of the historical rulers of the Cwezi Dynasty that gave birth to the current Bunyoro and Toro Kingdoms. She was an attractive beautiful girl who declined to marry the man her father had chosen for her.

Overnight: Rwenzori View Guesthouse/The Dutchess.

Day 16-17: Murchison Falls National Park

After Breakfast travel to Murchison Falls National Park. Stop over the top of the falls a scenic point where you will have a glimpse of River Nile squeezing its way through a narrow gap to start its continued flow into Lake Albert.

The falls were named after Sir Roderick Murchison, President of the Royal Geographical Society. 

Overnight: Kabalega Wilderness Lodge/Nile Safari Lodge/Pakuba Lodge

On Day 17 after an early breakfast, go for a game drive. You may have an opportunity to see animals like antelopes, Nubian giraffes, lions, elephants, warthogs, buffaloes . Return for lunch and relaxation and later go for Nile cruise to the bottom of the falls. You will see hippos, crocodiles and birds along river Nile.

Day 18-19: Kidepo Valley National Park

Transfer to Kidepo Valley National Park. Kidepo Valley National Park is a 1,442 square kilometres national park in the Karamoja region in northeast Uganda. Kidepo is rugged savannah, dominated by the 9,020 ft  Mount Morungole and transected by the Kidepo and Narus rivers.

Kidepo is also home to zebras, giraffes, elephants, lions, leopards and is the only place in Uganda where you can find cheetah and ostrich.

Overnight in Gulu or Kitgum : Church Hill Courts Hotel/Boma Hotel

Early morning game drive in Kidepo Valley National Park. You will enjoy the beautiful countryside in search of wildlife. In the afternoon, visit a Karamajong village, a unique cultural experience and traditional dances. Your trip will involve a visit to the Kanangarok Hot spring (also known as Kanatarok) extreme north of the Park.

Overnight: Apoka Lodge/Nga’moru Wilderness/Buffalo base.

Day 20-21 : Gulu

After breakfast, you travel back to Kampala through Gulu. Spend your night in Gulu. Overnight: Boma Hotel

Day 22-23: Gulu to Sipi Falls

Today, after breakfast your journey will take you to Sipi falls in Kapchorwa. Check in at your lodge.

Overnight: Lacam Lodge/Sipi River Lodge

Optional Activities

1. Mt. Elgon expeditions to Wagagai Peak (4,321 m. above sea level). Extra 5 days on the mountain.

2. or Arabica Coffee tour. Learn about the the coffee plant and also harvest some coffee especially in September.

Day 24-25: Sipi Falls – Jinja

Visit the spectacular Sipi Falls on Mount Elgon Ranges. Later in the day transfer to Jinja and visit the genuine source of River Nile.

Overnight: Gately on the Nile or 2 Friends guest house

Day 26: Transfers to Jinja  and Entebbe

Depending on your flight back home, the following activities are available water-rafting, kayaking, quad biking, horse riding, take a walk along the Nile, and visit local community projects. Transfer to the airport in Entebbe afterwards for your  departure flight.
